Knox County Public Library Children’s Festival of Reading

The Children’s Festival of Reading is hosted by the Knox County Public Library as the annual kickoff event for our summer reading program. The festival’s focus is on the child — it’s a day filled with imagination and play designed to excite children about reading and books. The event takes place outside at Knoxville’s iconic World’s Fair Park. Activities include author talks, musical performances, science play, crafts, and other family fun.

Best friends Frank and Stanley have it good, daydreaming about the comics they’ll create together in beautiful Hawaii, where the air smells like pineapples, the clear blue water sparkles in the sun, and dozens of US battleships, cruisers, and aircraft carriers stand silent sentinel in the harbor.
